Broadcasting your Location

For 2025 we're experimenting with a new feature to allow mutant vehicles to be update in the map in dust live.

You can broadcast your mutant vehicle's location by:

  1. Open dust and find your mutant vehicle under Art.
  2. On the detail page tap the image of mutant vehicle 3 times.
  3. Enter the PIN you were given.

Once you have entered the correct PIN broadcasting of your location will begin.

How to broadcast

Important​

  • Cell Service - You must have cell service (or Wifi) so turn off airplane mode (The green wifi symbol indicates a good connection).
  • Location Services - You must have location services turned on for your phone (The green pin symbol indicates a GPS location).
  • Keep Awake - Your phone screen will remain turned on and will be broadcasting your location every minute. If you continously broadcast your location we recommend making sure it is connected to power as using the GPS and network on your phone can drain the battery.

Parking​

If you are parking your mutant vehicle you can click Stop and the dust app will still show this last location for up to 24 hours. After 24 hours dust will show the location of where your mutant vehicle was placed on the map.

Note​

If you broadcast your location but are greater than 20 miles from the burn then the location will be ignored by dust.

Viewing in dust​

To view mutant vehicles on the map in dust:

  • Turn off airplane mode (you need cell serivce)
  • Press the More button on the home page and choose Enable Live Mutant Vehicle Map

Once enabled you can see mutant vehicles if you press the Art button on the home page, or if you press the location of a mutant vehicle in the Art tab.

Note: As cell service is required it is entirely dependent on whether you are lucky enough to get a signal as to how up to date the map will be.
